The college imparts instruction in the following courses in accordance with the regulations of the University of Delhi.

M.A.
This is a two year course for the degree of Master of Arts. The college offers M.A. in Philosophy, Political Science and Sanskrit.

B.A./B.Com (Hons.)
This is a three years degree course. It requires specialization in a main subject. The number of papers depend on the subject chosen. A candidate must take four papers in qualifying and subsidiary subjects as stated below.
In case of candidates who have vocational courses at 10+2, only one vocational subject will be taken into account when considering the aggregate of the best four subjects for the purpose of admission.

Note : M.I.L. stands for Modern Indian Language.
1. A stream : studied MIL upto class XII.
B stream : studied MIL upto class X.
Foreign students have the option to offer another qualifying paper in History/Philosophy in lieu of MIL.
2. Elective English : passed Elective English in class XII.
Eng A stream : passed English (core) in class XII.
Eng B stream : passed English in class X.
Eng C stream : passed English upto class VIII.
* However, in addition to the English (compulsory) qualifying paper, Hindi and Sanskrit (Hons) students may also offer a second English paper (optional) of the same stream (A/B) of B.A. Pass Course.
3. Candidates must have passed Mathematics and English in class XII.
4. Candidates must have studied Mathematics in class XII and passed English (Core) in class XII with 50% marks.


Note : For all Honours courses, except Sanskrit Honours, marks in either Sanskrit core or Sanskrit Elective, whichever is higher, will be counted to determine the aggregate.

B.A. (Pass)
This is a three year course for the degree of Bachelor of Arts (Pass). A candidate opts for four subjects, having one paper of each subject every year.

Compulsory Subjects
1. English
(i) Students who have passed English in Class XII at the Senior Secondary level will opt for English Stream A.
(ii) Students who have passed English in Class X at the Secondary level will opt for Stream B.
(iii) Students who have passed English in Class VIII in school, will opt for Stream C.

2. Modern Indian Languages1 (M.I.L.)
The languages offered are
Hindi/Punjabi/Bengali
(i) Students who have passed 'Core' or 'Elective' M.I.L. in class XII will study
stream A.
(ii) Students who have studied M.I.L. upto Class X level will study Stream 'B'.
(iii) Students who wish to study a special course in Hindi and have passed Class XII with Elective or Core Hindi may opt for Elective Hindi2.
(iv) All students, other than foreign students, have to take Hindi as an additional compulsory subject, if they did not offer or pass M.I.L. upto class X level. They must take the University examination at the end of first year.

1. Several other Modern Indian Languages e.g. Assamese, Gujarati, Manipuri, Marathi, Telgu etc. are taught in the Department of M.I.L. University of Delhi. Students desirous of taking these are to make their own arrangements with the University Department, University of Delhi.
2. Students taking Elective Hindi should offer any combination with History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit and Sociology.

Note 1. Elective English :
(i) Elective English is an optional subject.
(ii) English stream A and M.I.L. (Hindi/Punjabi/Bengali) will remain the two compulsory subjects.
(iii) Elective English is specially recommended for students who are proficient in English and might take by courses in Journalism, Secretarial Work, Hotel Management, Tourism etc. after graduation.
2. A candidate who did not offer any M.I.L. for S.S.C.E. or equivalent examination shall be permitted to opt for (a subject other than those of the combination in the Elective Subjects) History or Philosophy.
3. Foreign students may opt for History or Philosophy in lieu of M.I.L.
4. The medium of instruction in all Elective Subjects in B.A. (Pass) will be mainly Hindi. In Mathematics it will be English.
5. For B.A. (Pass), marks in either Sanskrit Core or Sanskrit Elective, which ever is higher, shall be counted.
6. Students of "Office Management and Secretarial Practice" and "Food Technology" will be allowed only Hindi A or B.

B. Com (Pass)
This is a three year course for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce (Pass). The Examination for Part I, II and III shall be held at the end of every academic year.

Note : Students offering Food Technology (F.T.) or "Office Management and Secretarial Practice" (O.M.) as an Elective subject will not be allowed Elective Hindi.
1. Students who have passed Mathematics in class XII qualify.
2. Students who have passed Elective/Core English in class XII securing at least 45% marks, or English in class X securing at least 50% marks, qualify.
3. Students with commerce background will be given preference.
4. Home Science is to be taken as a subject in case Food Technology is offered as an Elective subject, otherwise it is to be regarded as a vocational subject.
