Procedure
for Admission
Eligibility for Admission
Admission will be strictly according to merit and as per University
rules and regulations.
Minimum percentage of marks required for admission to :
(1) B.A. (Hons.) (other than Mathematics Hons.) and B.Com. (Hons.)
is 45% in aggregate.
(2) B.A. (Hons.) Mathematics is 45% in aggregate and 50% in Mathematics.
(3) B.A. (Pass) and B.Com. (Pass) is 40% in aggregate
in any one of the following examinations :
(i) A candidate must have passed Senior School Certificate Examination
(Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi (Pass
in four written subjects) or an examination recognised as equivalent
thereto (Ref : The aggregate marks requirement
will be determined on the basis of one language and three best elective
subjects.For B.A. (Pass) and all Honours courses, except Sanskrit
Honours, marks in either Sanskrit Core or Sanskrit Elective, whichever
is higher, shall be counted to determine the aggregate.)
or
Pre-University Examination (2 years) after 10 years of schooling
of an Indian University recognised by University of Delhi.
or
Intermediate Examination of an Indian University/Board or an Examination
recognised as equivalent thereto (Pass in four written subjects).
(ii) Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) of the Council
of Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi (Pass in four
written subjects) (Ref
: The aggregate marks requirement will be determined on the basis
of one language and three best elective subjects.For B.A. (Pass)
and all Honours courses, except Sanskrit Honours, marks in either
Sanskrit Core or Sanskrit Elective, whichever is higher, shall be
counted to determine the aggregate.)
(iii) Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination of
an Indian University/Board with at least 40% marks in the aggregate
(Pass in four written subjects including English) and also one of
the following Honours Examinations shall be eligible for admission
to the respective subject of the Honours Courses.

(iv) General Certificate Education Examination of the U.K.(Ref
: Where G.C.E. certificate indicates the grades, it will be treated
at par with the grades of overseas certificate of University of
Cambridge/Indian School Certificate Examination for purpose of admission
requirements )
(a) Pass in five subjects of Ordinary level.
and
(b) At least two subjects at the Advanced level courses. These two
advanced level courses may either be chosen from among the five
Ordinary level subjects or from outside this group as prescribed
by University of Delhi.
(v) Eligibility certificate : Any candidate who has not passed one
of the above mentioned Examinations will have to produce an Eligibility
Certificate from the University of Delhi.
(vi) In case of candidates who have vocational subjects at 10+2
level, only one vocational subject will be taken into account when
considering the aggregate of the best four subjects for the purpose
of admission.
Age Requirement
The applicant must have attained the age of 17 years before the
first of October of the year in which she seeks admission to the
first year of an undergraduate degree course. In case she seeks
admission to a Post-Graduate course she must have attained the age
of 20 years before the first of October of the year.
However, condonation of age, upto one year, is done by the Vice-Chancellor
on making a written application through the college. These rules
are subject to revision by the University/College from time to time.
